I suffer quite severely from arthritis but I can climb stairs one at a time. I checked with Haven Hotel twice in writing before I came and I was told in writing that I would have a room round the corner from the top of the stairs.  When my husband and I arrived, the receptionist had allocated us rooms which were some distance from the stairs.  i.e. along long corridors with little steps up and down at various places. When I expressed concern and told her about the  assurances received, she just shrugged her shoulders.  The soap and other toiletries in the room smelt of toilet cleaner. It is "help yourself" to a breakfast which is OK but not great. I could not drink the coffee (from a machine): it was too awful.  But, despite this, we had a wonderful time! All of the staff (apart from the receptionist) were kind and helpful. Both the  indoor and outdoor pools were open and they were great. I could not use the shower in my room because I could not climb into the bath but there is a lovely hot shower next to the indoor pool. I kept trips to my room to a minimum: I stayed  downstairs and enjoyed the fabulous views with a coffee or a long drink purchased at the bar. And I gradually relaxed as I watched all sorts of boats coming in and out of the harbour. Lots of interesting places to visit from the hotel too (with a mobility scooter in the back of the car).

Great hotel. Loved the revolving door. Fortunate to have stayed in a deluxe double sea view twitch balcony. We had an amazing corner room, second floor- had 180• view of sea and 2 private balconies. The bed is more like king size than double which was great as my partner is 6ft 2 so we were wondering about the room. Air-con and lots of amenities. We also ordered wine and chocolates and the wine was kept chilled in ice bucket and was a nice rose, and the chocs were yummy! Cleaning staff accommodating and friendly. Large restaurant room- lots of breakfast options for all which was good. Had cooked breakfast each morning (ours was included with room) and was hot and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location- the hotel had lots of parking, was right next to the chain ferry which was easy to use. Near to lots of areas both on foot, public transport and car. Would highly recommend.

The welcome, the food and the views are truly stunning. The bar and restaurant were very good and the service was excellent. I had an evening meal in the restaurant and had probably the best fish that I have ever eaten whilst staring at the views towards the channel and open sea. Desert was lovely and the staff were attentive and friendly. The welcome was lovely, service was great and breakfast had a good selection and did not feel rushed and could take in the views while having food. Would highly recommend staying and will be booking again

The room had an ensuite. The bed was lovely and comfortable, as well as being very large. The view from the room was amazing. I could sit on the balcony for hours just chilling with a glass or two. The hotel itself is old and it is lovingly cared for. They have kept a lot of old features in the hotel which reminds you of a time past. The view from the bar, restaurant and breakfast area's, again, are superb. The check in and out was made very straight forward and demonstrated good knowledge and experience.

Glorious location overlooking the entrance to Poole harbour. Magnificent scenery and constant interest when looking out of the restaurant window or sitting on the terrace. Local bus service to Studland, Swanage, Bournemouth and Poole accessed from very near by with a direct link to Bournemouth railway station. Staff very helpful and attentive.
